About Us

Our club was founded in 1985. We currently train year-round at our training field in Snohomish, Washington, about 40 minutes northeast of the metropolitan Seattle area, and conduct our tracking exercises in surrounding fields and farmlands. While ours is predominantly a German Shepherd Dog training club, some of our members own, train, and handle a variety of breeds, such as Airedale Terrier, American Pit Bull Terrier, Boxer and Dobermans, for the sport of Schutzhund.

We believe in both the working and conformation aspects of schutzhund. We train year round in all weather conditions because we enjoy being outdoors with our dogs. This dedication is evident in our members' accomplishments. Our training director, Paul Schneider and his dog Dexter Von Schneider, placed 3rd in the 1998 USA Nationals, receiving the Highest Placed Owner Handled/Trained trophy and were the 1999 Pacific Northwest Regional champions.

The Snohomish Schutzhund Club has hosted many of the Pacific Northwest Regional Conformation Shows and various other conformation shows. Dogs owned, trained, and handled by several of our club members have been entered in a number of national competitions. The VA1 dog at the 1997 Canadian National Sieger show is owned and handled by one of our club members.

We were proud to represent the Pacific Northwest Region of the United Schutzhund Clubs of America as the host for the 1998 USA Sieger Show and the 2002 North American Championship SchH3 and FH.
